Lorraine Marchand ’06 has been appointed director of the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Management Program. In her new role, which she assumed on August 3, Marchand is responsible for strategic, curricular, and administrative initiatives for the program, working closely with students, faculty and staff members, alumni, and corporate sponsors. Marchand replaced Cliff Cramer, who had led the program since its inception in 2006.

In a recent survey of all kinds of funds, ranging from local to mega funds,[1] more than 63% of respondents suggested that they have, will have, or would like to have more operations partners on their team full time.
Through Columbia Caseworks, The Private Equity Program has published a “Technical Note on LBO Valuation and Modeling.”
The Technical Note is intended for use by practitioners and academics, including MBA students, who are learning to model leveraged buy-outs.
The Dean’s Prizes for Teaching Excellence were established by a gift from George Wiegers ’61, who is the cofounder of Wiegers Capital Partners. The prizes are awarded for teaching excellence in three categories — core courses, elective courses, and by members of the adjunct faculty.
